Patron for 1 year.. That's Fine..

How about another badge in addition to patron like

Patron Plus or Supporter or Backer or something nice badge names / colour would be nice ..

One time fees - something like permanent badge which costs around $300 - $500 or higher..

Just got this idea.. May not be Cool but it's nice to see what others think about life time membership.

I think a badge like that should be earned over a long time not purchased.

I don’t know what the exact duration or criteria might be, but maybe there could be some requirements.
Like... Having a regular patron badge for many years, then a lifetime badge as a reward makes sense.

Just a thought :)

Cool 😎..
But, In the early stages,
Purchasing these badges would be helpful for forum development ..

Just a thought as well :)

Ahh, like, you get Patron for a long time and then you're awarded that another badge?

I mean, having "Patron Plus," as suggested by @back2form ...could be established as a grandfathered status for keeping "Patron" on long-time.

Like...
Instead of a one-time purchase, I think that after having the normal "Patron" for several years, coupled with other factors a badge like "Patron Plus" would be appropriate.

But he made a crucial point about how a one-time purchase would benefit forum development at this stage :)

Yeah, I think your idea makes sense, I like it. But yeah, we want more $ for the staff. Maybe just being able to donate any random amount with or without a badge would be nice.

Another badge? Nah

Nah..

If you already purchased patron, you can't buy patron plus.

If your patron membership expires after a year, you can purchase patron plus which is life time badge :) just saying if it's implemented..

Well, considering how fast this is already at -4, I think we have to decline this one. But, some good discussion has come out of it!

I would like to look into more badges members can get with karma, preferrably upgrading the "Hot Rod" badge into something better.
Too many badges will make it less appealing. Any additional badges can be upgrades like adding Plus, Max, Pro, etc., or color codes, or adding Silver, Gold, Platinum levels, etc. This will keep things organized.
I agree with preferring upgradable badges over more badges as we don't want the profile section or the upgrades page becoming too cluttered.

So far, I only know how this can be done manually, but I have been looking into automatic options as well.
