People Justifying PageRank as a metric

Don’t get me wrong I know PR is still a metric on Google’s backend but nobody has been able to see it for years.

I got into it with this seller on another site because he sent me a list of sites and used PR as a metric for their value. I told him “you know nobody’s been able to see this for years” and he said “there are ways of estimating it still so there’s no problem with using it”.

Sounds like a lot of BS if you ask me but if anyone knows how someone could possibly be estimating PR in this day and age then I’m all ears.

like for the first year or so after PR was made private some people were trying to estimate it but to hear someone trying that in 2025 is nuts!

Probably just a scammer man just ignore him and move on.

PageRank is dead, but you can use pages' AltaVista rankings as a good estimate.

It might be for the same reason a lot of email scams are so poorly written. They may be hoping that the only customers they get are clinically retarded, they are easier to extract money from.
