YouTube Relief of my Mind as a parent

Restricting YouTube will never work, find a way to distract him instead, finding new interests might work better.

Regarding your family spoiling him, is not a problem, he is a kid and should be spoiled, the time will come when he needs to face starting to grow up later, let him be a kid as long as he behaves nice and respects others.

Lastly, never take advice from people that never raised a kid, they have just theories on children, one needs practice to know what to do, not cool theories.

I bet he will be an awesome guy growing up with you as a mom, keep learning, keep loving.

In all seriousess, the more online life becomes the greater threat to kids online. This isn't like the 80s or 90s where a kids only exposure to computers was playing atari. Even taking school classes and exams on ipads and laptops is compulsory in some schools. Don't wait for and rely on companies to enforce the rules though if you are concerned, they just make changes like this when they are pressured by regulators to do so. Setup a pare taly control app like
netnanny on your child's devices and have put auch control in your own hands.

I would explain the dangers to kids online to your family and how a control app will help to protect them.
