like sometimes it just doens't load and spits out

sometimes it takes awhile but gets thru?
is it just me or
it seems like it comes and goes :s

Same here. For a second, I thought it was my internet, but then I checked other sites.

I noticed it was like this about 5 hours ago, but it seems to have mostly cleared up now.

I keep an eye on the server to make sure it’s not approaching its limit in terms of resource. It did not, but it is clearly a server issue.

It doesn’t seem particularly laggy right now, but it’s not as snappy as it should be.

We might need to look into upgrading the server sooner. I’ll also see what I can do to speed it up right now, so I’ll keep this open in the meantime.

@Apricot is looking into and making adjustments right now, so all of you should see some pretty good improvements soon.

Okay, @Apricot worked through some things and the server seems stable for now.

We'll be looking into upgrading to a better VPS as soon as possible.

Okay, we think we may have found a really good new host that ticks all the boxes. I'm hoping we can get the site on the new host by tomorrow (April 9) so that we can get back to finishing up with The Trading Post.

There will likely be some downtime whilst we're switching hosts, but we're going to try to minimise that as much as we can.

I'll likely post a new thread in the announcements section once we're ready to make the switch.

By the way, this is all possible thanks to the donations we've been receiving from all of you, so thank you!

You should see some pretty good improvements soon. The forum will be able to handle significantly more traffic and active users.

The server upgrade is in progress. We're going to stick with our current host for now as they've been pretty good (and I also have a huge prorated amount with them).

There shouldn't be any down time.

I'll mark this as resolved soon, but let me know if there are any issues with server lag after the upgrade.

@Apricot is also working on some more optimisations to the server.
