One compromise is that there might be an option to have some of the sections expanded by default and others collapsed.I upvoted, but I'd honestly prefer the forum list to be expanded by default instead. Either way, I'm good with it. It's better than the void.
You're lucky derailing has been a topic lately, or there might've been another comment about sticky sidebars.
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooI wasn't able to expand specific sections, so either all of them are collapsed or all of them are expanded.
We can choose which sections are in the sidebar, though. I went ahead and removed some of the less popular subforums from the sidebar and expanded it by default.
In order to better organise things, I've also added in a "Trading Post" widget that displays all of the Trading Post sections.
We weren’t able to make the sidebar stickied, although even if we could, we didn’t want to limit the sidebar in the event that we added more widgets to it in the future. To elaborate further, a sticky sidebar would limit us to the space above the fold.nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
you expanded it
but didnt make it sticky
so this is what being @roydan feels like
and even after closing it
it reopens after pageclick/refresh
omgg
what have you done @Word Wizard

In the meantime, expanding it so that it’s not a bunch of empty space is all we can do.

The middle always had scrollIf the side bar is now expanded. The middle section has a scroll bars on it? Maybe add a min-height to that section to remove the scroll...
Oh it feels more obvious nowThe middle always had scroll
Being roydan is awesome. Last week I got a suggestion implemented *despite* your downvotes threats *and* a 12 upvote requirement.so this is what being @roydan feels like
Yeah, since the sidebar has been expanded, it probably looks more obvious. The middle (and right side) used to go down to the bottom, but it would still scroll a bit.Oh it feels more obvious now

I didn't really notice it before but now the page is longer I think the featured boxes and the one on the right should all expand a little.
