I've just recently moved to Thailand after spending a year in Mexico and before that over 10 years in the south of Spain, old school heads here will know I'm obviously Irish.

I've plans to meet with some old school heads like GeorgeBG (met him 10 years ago when I was last in Thailand) and LukaB, they're both currently in BKK... I prefer the Islands but will pop over to see them in a few weeks time once I'm settled here.

If anyone is out here over the next few weeks or months - shout me!

will be in Thailand again in August and Vietnam mid and late July. Will ping you then. But just 2 days in BKK this time

No Luka isn't from there, he is from a country that was ravaged with war though... he studied in the states though and has done really well for himself, couldn't believe he was just 15 or so when I first met him on the other forum.

I tried asking some polish dude that I've seen on youtube and is living 17 years in Sri Lanka but couldn't get any info on which visa he has even when I wanted to pay for consultation

Yes Vietnam getting quite popular over cheap prices.

One of my friends live their he was telling me loves how friendly the people are in the country and he seems to be having great time so far.

With Irish passport I can stay for 60 days and pay 8000 bhat then for 30 days extension - at that point (actually before) I go to Ireland to see family anyway, so then I just come back and start the 60-90 days again, rinse and repeat.

Alright then, I won't ask about bank account issues because you maintain ties to your home country so you probably don't have the same problems that I have

Hmmm, interesting. Actually Sri Lanka was supposed to launch digital nomad visa but it's just text with no link on official site, work in progress, no way to apply that I'm aware of

Last I heard the digital nomad Visa is still in talks stage for now but may change.

I see. Not really hearing anything much about Malaysia most know going to Thailand,Philippines,Eastern Europe or some South America.

I didn’t know it works like that! Really cool! So when you live there do you have to just rent a place or can you buy a place that you can come back to?
