Online marketplaces dominate almost every stage of the purchase journey of consumers in the United Kingdom.

Exactly. It would have been nice to have a break down.

I did read it as most buy on amazon.

But also nearly every major brand in the UK has switched to a marketplace model. So it's not surprising either.

I'm constantly bombarded weekly with offers to sign up.

Yea it's cause it's doing well for competitors so makes sense they'd switch.

These articles are funny cause it would be like saying UK internet users rely on search engines but we all know 90% of that is just Google.

A lot. Everyone knows Amazon, and every seller wants to get on Amazon for that reason. Independent marketplaces have it really tough.

You are one of the few, then. Amazon is easy to use and has almost anything you need, so you don’t have to visit a store anymore. For a lot of people, it’s just easier, and I think that’s why it’s so successful. Nobody wants to get up and drive to the store to buy something when they can just order it online and have it delivered the next day.

Don't get me wrong 1 day ill end up on there.

Just when starting a business more so ecommerce. Doing ads. Listing on Amazon. That's not unique anyone with a budget of say 500-1000 or a credit card can come in and copy any business that does the whole amazon sales.

It doesn't interest me.

I try and do all the impossible stuff first that requires time, effort and money. Once I have that done I see myself being unique to a large % of my competitors. Once all the impossible stuff is done, then ill go pick up the crumbs off Amazon.
