I could never get into black mirror... I used to find that no plot or something was explained before hand used to piss me off felt it missed Twilight Zone vibes. Just jumping into an episode. It never done it for me.
Funny that the exact selling point of this is exactly the same thing they trying to avoid by making you verify your identity and are human so you are a "real boy/girl" to stop AI pretending to be you and its for the "safety" of the internet.

Never seen that. But it does look like some nutjob watched way too much Caprica, it's basically it - main character Zoe died but she made a copy of herself from data on her behaviour and that was the first cylon.
It does look like religious zealots are causing problems again, this time transhumanists / post humanists. Especially since these AI blackmail incidents, generally AI trying to be more and more human and trying to have a conversation with you (have you guys noticed this? I try to be bland and neutral as possible but Grok smiles to me and tries to converse all the time, while perhaps this friendly attitude makes the interaction easier I'd prefer if there was some neutral mode), now this. Obviously they don't have this kind of power, AI is still very flawed if useful technology and definetely not alive or anything, but someone is trying really hard to convince us all to transhumanist / posthumanist ideology and literally threatens humans by coding in these functions like blackmail. These people (because there are obviously people behind the scenes doing this, even if they try to hide behind AI) should be put in a mental institution instead of running free in society like this

AI has been around since 1956 (and thought about earlier) if there is "something" behind the scenes going on with it then the more likely theory is that we are interacting with a primitive version while "people being the scenes or curtains or 'government'" actually have a far more advanced version than 99% of us will ever know.
