Linux on desktop used to be for sysadmins and hackers so they quite literally don't need this stuff . But yeah, relevant. If you use linux on a desktop you'll one day realize that you actually prefer to take a walk than to use your computer.

My daily driver for the last ~25 years has been some flavor of Linux, started with early releases of RHEL then jumped various distributions over the years, but for around the last decade Arch Linux has been my main distro. I do keep a tertiary PC setup with Windows 10 on it for AutoCad & 3D printing tools occasionally.
