I was looking through hosting providers but they sometimes seem like they're all the same.

A lot of them offer the same kind of packaging with the same amount of ram and storage space. But I'm looking for what is a VPS host that is really reliable. Regular automatic backups and very little downtime because the site I'm setting is going to be really important.

Really I can't tell them apart. I was wondering if my fellow outlaws here could tell me which host they use for their VPS because I have been wanting to get an upgrade from shared hosting.

I don't know if it's the best web host, but you can take a look at Dream Host.

I've been using them for many years now, and I've only ever had one issue with them that involved my SSL certificate not automatically renewing. However, their support fixed it really fast.

Other than that, they're pretty reasonably priced and my sites don't have any downtime that I've ever noticed.

They also have an automatic backup feature that I've used once. The feature was nice in the sense that when it applied the automatic backup, the existing files on the server were moved into a different folder. This was actually really useful as I wanted to undo the backup, and was as easy as changing the folder name back to the original name.

Like I said, there might be better hosts out there, but this is just my experience with this one. I hope this helps. :)

I don`t know what kind of site you are setting up, but if it is a WordPress I would go with Vultr combined with FlyWP`s free offer of "1 server - 1 site" and back it up automatically on Vultr. If you look for a Managed host I would go for Rocket.net as they have a very good support and backup if you need a hands off solution.

You went 3/3 for what I was going to say; FlyWP makes Vultr into a walk in the park with the cheap, cheap cost and Rocket.net are unbelievable with how good their service and staff are.

before i switched over to manage hosting
i was using Digital Ocean, Linode & AWS.
All 3 are great altho AWS is a bit pricy.
