My name is Roy and I'm an AppSumo addict.
(We love you, Roy!)
I but tons of crap I don't need from AppSumo and every once in a while I find something truly great, like Sendfox or Tidycal.
But some times these SaaS companies don't last because they fail to realize that AppSumo is a good platform to get your name out these or fund some growth, but you can't sell SaaS subscription for one time fee without losing in the long run.
A couple of years ago I bought a software called Sessions.
It was brilliant.
A video meeting software you can use on your own domain, recordings, webinars, transcriptions, webhook integrations, the whole 9 yards!
One day it just stopped working, no email, no nothing. Just a notice on their website saying something in the realms of: we ran out of money and couldn't pay our employees, expect long support ticket response.
And that was it.
To this day the site is up, with no option to log in.
I keep checking every few weeks, but even if it comes back, I don't think it'll last.
