Work hard and save money

I don't get it. I thought he had $2 for a meal but his burger and that much have cost closer to $5 I'm sure the street food is cheaper there than McDonalds... also the drink.. can't he get a flash and use the mymiz (I think or mymizu or mymiy) app I'm sure that directs you to water stations for free refills.

I get life might stuck but there are work arounds.

I don't understand the work life balance there but if hes working overtime and not getting paid least he has 4-6 hours extra of warmth and a roof over his head? Might suck but given his current situation its better than leaving at X and spending Y hours on the street.

Where's the rest of his clothing etc I didn't watch it all.

Get life sucks on time. But I can walk around with a camera in my closest city and find 100s of people worse off than him.

It's kind of well known that Japan only fun if you are rich for living their long term if not you live like a slave.

You can live much cheaper or better than Japan in most Western countrys fairly easy.

I can't remember who did the sums but they worked out you could live in an expensive part of New York City for much less money than living in Toyko long term.

To give an example I live in semi expensive area I probably have much easier or better life than most Tokyo such as I got no busy areas Roads pretty quiet only bad part is public transport pretty weak here.

I mean... If I were to work for 18 hours and still not be able to afford a place to sleep I'd just stop working idk. Some other salarymen/women videos are slightly better ie they eat healthier and have where to sleep (but for example have holes in their clothes). I'm assuming this one is so bad because he has medical debt.

+ I understand @t2van (and many other people are) is heartless, nosy and unhelpful, which is exactly why limiting social media and forum time is my New Year's resolution for 2026 😂.

Am I nosy because I ask questions to posts you and others post on a forum? I'm pretty sure that's how a forum works and social media.

Here's a hint for limiting social media and forum time in 2026 don't post your social life or problems :ROFLMAO: no one will ask anything to be considered nosy then.

Typical british boor... It's like they make 'em even more boorish in UK than in Poland, I don't think I could be able to stand people like these on a daily basis. That wouldn't pass in Asia, everyone would look at you like you're nuts.

Hence why some live in capsule Cafe.

Access to a tiny room enough to sleep watch tv/play games and make use of the shared bathroom/shower area.

Fully agree, why spend money on shit food when you can cook your own cheap food, I see a lot of Asian people do this .. weird big city thing maybe.

I was in Japan(Tokyo and Osaka) until 2 weeks ago.

The transit and travel was excellent. Super fast and well connected metro, semi express and the JRLine(bullet train)

We used a suica card there. Top up 4-5 USD worth for a day we could cover many places.

For us the food was expensive because we wanted to only eat vegetarian.

But for someone who doesn't have any dietary restrictions, food is also super cheap, healthy, fresh and available round the clock.

I am sure there are some who suffer from poverty and work 18 hours a day. But i don't think thats the norm there. I also have a couple cousins permanently living there. None of them work more than 8-10 hours a day.

Japanese also party like crazy. Never seen introverts break free and those night clubs are another level. We were taken aback. Both South Korea and Japan imo

Also they prefer staying in the outskirts little outside Tokyo. But because of their efficient transport system the travel is super easy. Most of them take a power nap in the metro or train. Quite common. Also it's very clean, calm and organised there which I crave for and is the major reason why I stay most months outside my home country :D

There lot of data shows that people in Japan die from overwork, so I am pretty sure it is a real issue.

It's quite well known in Japan if you work in an office, you are meant to go drinking with your boss and keep drinking until he goes home. For example if you finish at say 9pm and go out with him you're drinking until say 2 am, and you start work 8 am, you're going to be pretty worn out.

The Japanese have a word for it called karōsh in Japanese meaning death by overwork

I heard from a few people if you are foreign, they will allow you work less than a Japanese person; the same rules apply in China as well you can get off more things if you are foreign than native Chinese.

Here are articles about it https://pulitzercenter.org/stories/karoshi-deep-look-japans-unforgiving-working-culture

karōsh this is true. No denying that. But the recent generations are bit more loose.

karōsh was more because of the social peer pressure than the actual pressure from work most times. This is what I heard when I spoke to a few

I could be wrong. But i think the ground reality will be a mix of everything.

But what still amazed me is, they are all very friendly and helpful when asked for something. Plus they walk in a straight line. You walk on the right side when going forward. Left side is left for people who walk from the other side.

They wait in traffic lights even at 3 AM when roads are empty

I am not an expert with north, south, East asia politics, or work culture. But i still think things may not be as extreme as social media portrays things. If that were the case the whole society would have collapsed. They are still organized and definitely not in a zombie way :)

Thinking about it now I'd say after two three weeks of buying proper food you'd be able to mix and match loads of cool things

My problem is I run out of things to cook and just get something to throw in the microwave or oven

I'm a beast with a frying pan, just wasting life eating plastic at this stage

Idiot, he's homeless, he doesn't have a kitchen. I don't eat at McDonalds (yuck) but then I also have higher budget than him.

Idiot is not a swear word in any country lol.
But calling someone an idiot is not an acceptable language in real society if you are not socially mental.

Okay, you're on my ignore list now, maybe that'll help you to get over the fact that I'm not interested in old, broke dude that I have nothing in common with.
