Meal prep

Does any of you use tallow instead of processed oils to fry things?
yes I use beef drippings for chips or fish.

totally an artery killer but worth it, once and a while

We rarely freeze food, we usually cook once or twice a week + light dinners.
We but fruits and veggies once a week from a group of farmers that sell D2C and meat from the butcher next to when we cook.

I buy olive oil from the guy who makes it. Not tallow, though. This is the first time I hear about it.

That begs the question, (discarding all oils unobtained through cold pressed), is it betrer to use a light oil such as olive/coconut that have a lower burn point than tallow or pork grease, and have the risk of transforming it in cancerigen shit than go with the high colestherol from tallow/pork?

I dunno...

Cancer shit scares are in everything we eat and do, they keep changing minds on what is and what isn't good for you all the time.. id rather just enjoy my food than worry about whats going to kill me. I'm not worried about 'what ifs' in life when I can die tomorrow from a bus or randomly in my sleep.

I deep fry once a week sometimes twice. Something in tallow every 3-4 months or so as a treat.
