I like to take note of any strategies used in ads, even ads I'm not interested in like this M3GAN one.

In this particular ad, I noticed they put "tix" instead of tickets. This is now the third time I've seen a movie advertise itself and use the word "tix".

Personally, I've never met anyone who used "tix" instead of tickets.

I looked into a bit and found out that "Tix" was a now-removed currency in Roblox, so I'm guessing some corporate advertisers saw this and thought it was just some widespread slang the kids use for movie tickets.

I also asked ChatGPT, and this is what it had to say:

I don't know about you, but these ads really give off "How do you do, fellow kids" vibes.

If someone said that to me I be thinking they talking about Twix but said it wrong for example if I was still a shop manager some person said to me sell them a Twix.

To me, it sounds like “ticks”, as in the parasite.

It's these gen gamma guys like @Rem who can't type an entire word so they end up with something like /s and expect everybody to read their thoughts via wifi.

but seriously, most of that came from the era of flip/nokia phones where shortening words to sms was much easier
cuz of sms limits & $ and just much easier to type
