Ok, so I figured out a cool new B2B hack for Google Ads and wanted to share it with you. It requires some investment, but most Google Ads hacks do, so I don’t think the investment required is such a barrier of entry.

I haven’t tested it yet, but I used similar techniques in the past and got to 90+% accuracy within a couple of weeks, so I’m certain that it works.

Anyway, the biggest problem with B2B campaigns on Google is that we can’t really tell a desired vs undesired user based on keyword alone (and most of the audience segments are no good either) before they click or leave their details, so we end up:
  1. Wasting money on traffic we don’t want.
  2. Training the conversion algorithm on bad signals (leads vs qualified leads).
Even if we do report only for qualified leads, we’ll still need to gather a lot of leads before the conversion algorithm is properly trained.

The faster and more efficiently we’ll train Google to show our ads to the people we really want, the better our results will be.
So, if we want to train the conversion algo faster and more efficiently.

So today I saw a thread on another forum, asking for Snitcher alternatives. I never heard about it, so I looked it up and then I came up with this idea.

What Snitcher does is match a website visit to a company, essentially telling you which are the companies whose employees are visiting your site.

The coolest thing? They collect UTMs and GCLIDs, meaning we can use Google Ads’ offline conversion uploads to let Google know which of our visitors we want.

By manually uploading the click IDs of visits we received from desired companies, we essentially tell Google that this is the type of users we want, and encourage them to give us more similar users.
There could be other Snitcher alternatives that makes this even cheaper to pull off.

If you ever try this, let me know - I’m super curious about it, and I’ll be happy to help with the setup in exchange for this feedback.

Jeeeeeez, you won't need Apollo for your targetting much longer anyways, if you can store all that data collected...
Only for those who already visited your site, though.
But for the purpose of training Google's conversion algo it should work.

In a few months Microsoft is adding more LinkedIn capabilities into Bing Ads and I hope this would help push Google toward job titles, company sized, and industries as well.

Thanks for sharing this, I actually struggled with this on my own ad account. I tried running gads for my agency while I was still in Poland but I ran out of money before I collected enough data 😂😭. Anything that could make this stage cheaper is highly appreciated. Hmmmmm, you're saying they might want to be more competitive vs bing/linkedin and improve their b2b options? That'd so helpful tbh...

I have more money now, might want to retry this.

I also wonder about search ads vs youtube, I've seen top agencies in Poland have ads on yt. Do you have any experience with youtube ads? Do you think this might be cheaper vs search ads? Generally how much ad spend do you think is reasonable for something like this?

In 9/10 cases, advertisers use Pmax as a all-in-all campaign, that include banners, video ads, and search ads. It runs everywhere, including YouTube. So the ads you see might be from that.

Additionally, YouTube is very useful in remarketing, so assuming you've been in most of their websites, it could be that as well.

Hard to tell which campaigns are you targeted by, but you can try and click an ad and see if the UTMs shows something.

YT is better at leaving an impression on users, but I wouldn't use it as the first interaction, I'd prefer using it for remarketing.

Any idea about meta ads? That might be a question for your wife though 😂
