I have a backyard stockpile of school supplies that were supposed to be for sale, but the employee got fired and the location closed. The business is no longer in existence. It was a place where you sold accessories bought wholesale. And now that place is gone. There's $10,000 worth of stuff left from various budget categories, mostly school supplies.

Where to sell it? How to sell it? Someone's idea is to simply sell it without margin just to recover money on unsold stock. I find it pathetic and laughed it off.

My idea was to make bundles of items and a mystery box. But here's a catch. I can create my custom items as hook and then sell those items in bundle with school accessories.

What is it pens, pencils etc? For schools to use or for pupils?

If it's pupils i.e student supplies then you need to build out the idea with ads now and then run everything about 4 weeks before the start of the new term after summer holidays / breaks. Anything before will be a bit of a waste I think. You want people to buy cheap low cost supplies when they start thinking about a new school term or children going to high school, college and so on.

If it's for schools to use, hooks, tags that kind of crap. Then bundle them off to schools, colleges etc the only hook here it you might need to become a registered supplier.

If it was me and it was pens, pencils, pads etc. Id just hit car boot sales, pop up market palces and just bundle them off simple cash business no fuss, once stock is gone you can just vanish into the air. Everyone needs a cheap pen, pencil and so on.

Mystery box type thing works if you are planning on doing it longer term.

Final option if it's no cost to you and you just "aquired" the stock. Then just auction it off in big boxes of random stuff.

I was thinking about black hat in relation to this.

Maybe use it to farm white hat ads...
Build ad accounts.
Then use them for black hat practice.

Sounds like a good paid ads course.

Where are you based
Poland.

300k inhabitants city.

There are some places to sell, but I'm not gonna stay and sell this manually...

I can only use the internet and delivery systems because why not.

Maybe there's some fun to catch here. If not, fck it.

It's completely meaningless to me. :D

No matter what you do, you should hold on to it until the back-to-school period in your area since that’s when parents and students are looking for supplies.

If I were you, I'd print a few flyers and hand them in schools if poorer parts of the city or in colleges. Include prices and a big headline.

I wouldn't start ads if all I have to sell is worth $10k because:

$200 worth of flyers (which is a lot imo) gets you an ROI of 5000% (unless you're an accountant and in that case it's 4900%). Very unrealistic to hit that with ads at launch.

You could go to rural areas in Poland, find people in need, and just donate to them.
I'm sure there are many kids who can't afford proper school supplies.

I forgot it when posting...

Was late night.

Flyers work for school items?

They didn't work for personal training consultations on 100% cold people.

Charity... I'm not rich yet.

That’s a good idea. Supply costs can rise around that time, so it would be wise to cash in on this.

We've done that in the past.

It works for every occasion like selling christmas trees around december.

Yeah because in flyers the distribution is the targeting.

You hand them out in schools > they all need school supplies
You hand them out in poor neighborhoods and colleges > they are broke and are more likely to prefer cheap equipment over a store they know and trust.

Personal trading require more trust then school supply and harder to target people who needs it in the context of flyers.

Oh yeah, this in concjunction with bundling, extra free stuff and automated orders via SMS, mail, messengers sounds good.

The thread became interesting.

I think of flyers saying normal price for all this is 200, our price only 120... dont believe? See our website. some line like this.
