What are some buzzwords you can't stand?

SaaS - craziest buzzword in marketing and business since 2010.

People confuse it with a business model.
It's a delivery method.
One characteristic of it is sky-high customer acquisition costs and massive churn rates.

Just absurd.

It's extremely hard to generate cash flow with it. Customer retention is crazy hard to maintain.

Shipping features is painful as f compared to other delivery methods. In other methods you don't need features at all.

What advantages SaaS has? Really there are none if you don't have massive business behind it.

SaaS (Software as a Service) is both a business model (subscriptions) and a delivery method.

Facts, a lot of newly made ones have budgets and business potential even lower than small offline businesses opened 2 days ago 😂. Predicted bankrupcy: in first month. 😆

It's true. I'm not talking about truly successful ones, but that's the minority, majority is just a bad lead for an agency. Not a fan. If you gotta do this you need to research extra hard else it'll go down before first 30 days will pass 😆.

The worst thing is that it's recommended as alternative to a job or freelancing. It's not...

It's hard entrepreneurship. Really hard compared to something like running social media accounts or selling scripts.

I think if you have a really good idea then it's good because it's automated. But most people make the same app like everyone else, literally had someone refer to me another wannabe Zoom competitor 😂. Bruh, everyone's already using Zoom or Meet, they won't use your shit... Or ANOTHER Instagram influencer platform... Give it a break. App / SaaS / mobile app *can* be profitable but you need to do market research first, don't just randomly spit out your first idea and expect it to be profitable bEcAuSe yOu bUiLt aN aPp. You need to think about security as well, this is more hackable than an ebook, your app gets hacked and then what? How do you deal with your pissed customers then? Also people forget that a lot of IT startup awesomeness is based on Venture Capital lol... You don't have the same power as a hobbyist as startup that actually successfully rised funds.

So is it possible? Yes. But it's a serious matter.

this is effect of pathologized specialization

Once programmer gets addicted to computer, he forgets real world problems and may find oneself in a rabbithole of solving FICTIVE problems like adding a color to mesh or creating something using programming, reinventing wheels and more.

Programming is powerful, but dangerous. If it's the only niche you know, life losses its meaning.

If you're a programmer and you inspire yourself with what you do at work, you may find yourself in that place where you try to copy what 8 figure entrepreneur does... completely forgetting the big image.

Brains don't function well in isolation which can be created by narrow, tech specialization.

Same shit would happen to someone who would work at mcdonald's and all they would know is how to assemble a burger, then tried to start a burger place knowing only how to assemble burgers. Not enough for good life.

it’s a total existential trap!
