It's time to get a new TV.

I was talking with a mate and he was telling me that he got one of those 4k QD OLED TVs.

Kinda pricey but I'm open to it. Thing is I've seen these in stores and tbh they didn't stand out to me from the regular 4k TVs. Maybe it was just that specific make of TV or what they were playing idk.

Anyone have one and how is it?

I don’t have one but I saw one in a store and the only reason I noticed it was because the colors looked more vibrant and the contrast stood out. I was like “wow why does that tv look so much better” and saw it was qd oled.

I don’t know how it compares to woled tvs but I at least think they look much better.

They’re a waste of money. I don’t notice a difference and I don’t think anyone actually does. Just more overhyped stuff to sucker people out of money.

Same goes for “60fps+” tvs. I can’t even see a difference in those frame rates compared to 30fps.

I guess I could understand someone not seeing a difference with qd oled tvs but 60fps? It doesn’t look much smoother to you?

Also just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean others can’t. Everyone is different and if OP notices it enough that he wants one then there’s no reason to argue about it.

No. 30fps looks the same as 60fps to me on my monitor even tho I’ve got a 60hz monitor. I even tried watching videos that were supposed to be 60fps on YT and it all just looks the same to me.

This might sound basic but is your monitor by any chance set to run at 60hz? Yours might be set at 30hz.

You can go to your advanced display settings and see if it says “29.9hz” instead of 60hz.

…. I’m a fucking idiot….

I thought it was just a bunch of bull. I changed the refresh rate. Gonna try that out later with some vids on YouTube.

But if I still don’t notice a difference then I’m going to still stick with what I said.

Mine isn't a OLED but an LED can the same settings apply to my TV as well?

I got a Sony LED from year 2017

Yes, ask the same question in Gemini and add exact model number (e.g., KD-55XE9005) and it will guide you how to set it up.

If anyone has the new iPhones

Turn it off, turn it on, the apple logo will illuminate and the rest of your screen is off

Now imagine it a strong bit wider and a good bit taller

Is there any f*cking need

Unless you really want it. Avoid.

I've had OLEDs (probably things change) but the burn-in on them is shit. It DOES fade but if you watch, say the Disney App, which has little to no movement and you leave it on there for 5-10 minutes before picking something or you leave the room, you get the menu on your tv while you watch a program.

I stuck with Samsung's 4K QLEDs to be honest. I prefer the picture and the quality. Like any TV in my opinion blacks are still an issue in low light or any light no matter the TV location so always place a soft light lamp or led strip on the back of the TV. For blacks and dark viewing, it can transform any TV.

Wtf so OLED and QLED are one and the same thing or this is Samsungs unique screen technology?

Also, why not Sony instead of Samsung?

Just say you have bad eyesight without saying you have bad eyesight... I barely can see shit so I'd probably need to get glasses first, not tv.

Omg wtf this was brilliant. I'd never think of that.
