Well, my thread title is as clear as the notice I received when trying to send karma to someone. Took me a minute to remember the tax, and I doubt the average user is even aware of it.
The users and industry are usually the forces at play here.
Brand won't work with an agency that can only produce crap, users will look toward buying from companies that had a nicer looking ad, etc.
I wouldn't start with less than an average of one sale per day, I'd prefer having 3-5 per day.
Another thing is to start after having conversion value reported for at least a month (30 days) in a consistent manner.
If you can, run it on a 50/50 split at first.
The thing I see as one of the ones that are running a but load of AI ads is that
1. Even though low quality AI ads suck, they don't suck from a performance perspective. At least not yet.

Ok so at some point in time I lost interest in doing it for several reasons:
1. I suck at cold emails
2. It's very boring
3. I'm no where near running at enough volume for it to matter, so even if I was the Chuck Norris of cold emails it's very likely that it would've resulted in nothing...
