I posted this thread in The Saloon. It has instructions on how to use the BBCode.
Gimme Yo Credits!
This is a stick up! Don’t you want to know what’s behind this spoiler? -=Stripped Content=- If you want to use this feature, use the BBCode below. -=Stripped Content=- Replace ‘X’ with the amount of credits you want to charge. When someone pays creds to unlock the content, you get paid...officeoutlaw.com
I’ll update the main guide later today.
It would only be content between the charge tags, although someone could technically lock a whole thread behind those tags.@Zwielicht Personally, I don't think making users pay (credit) to view some content is the best approach, and here's why:
There are already so many social media platforms where people can access content for free. What makes a forum stand out is the structured layout and the quality of information it offers. But if a new user signs up and finds that they first have to earn credits and then use those credits just to access helpful content, it creates friction. Chances are, they’ll leave and never come back.
Instead, I think it would be better to make the credit system optional. If a user finds value in someone’s post, they can choose to give them credits as appreciation.
Just my opinion. Would love to hear what others think about this.
