Today, the notification says: your post was edited.

Although it's technically true, most users see this notification as "you messed up and your post was edited"

I think that a notification saying something like:
"Your post in thread 'abc' was highlighted" would describe it better.

Fully agree!

And if I may offer a suggestion on something relevant to this thread, I’d like for reports to be labelled as “unable to resolve” rather than “rejected” (should they be). I stopped reporting on a certain other forum after numerous valid reports were not only turned down based on subjective interpretation but were also rejected in such a manner that made it seem as if I owed the forum my reports.

I’m certain that won’t be the case with this forum but still, just my opinion. :)

Thank you for pointing this out - we'll look and see if we can give it a different notification message.

Sorry @roydan -- I looked into this and it's not something we can fix. The way the addon works is that posts are highlighted through the editing feature, and that's the only way the system can report it to users.

What we will do is send a notification whenever a post is highlighted so that it's clear what happened and members don't think their post was edited randomly.

@God is doing it quite well even today, I believe.

I took a look into this myself just now.

The author of the add-on updates it fairly regularly. I just installed an update hoping that they had a notification feature for it. It did not, but what I did was I went on the Xenforo forums and backed up two other requests another user made about adding it into the next update.

Can you link the requests here so we can upvote them too?
I feel lost in that forum

It's the discussion section of the add-ons page. The author seems to check and respond there often, so feel free to comment in it saying you'd also like to see the feature.

Also, yeah, I get lost there sometimes, too.

@roydan. he said he's going to consider it for the next update! :)

Yeah I saw it, too. I couldn't comment there, maybe some restriction on my account or something..

My wife mentioned that on her Xenforo account, she can't comment on certain things that I can. I think it's because I purhased a Xenforo license from my account, so those who haven't purchased a license are more restricted. 🤷‍♂️

Sometimes you don't expect the whitahat people to act like that. Clever..
