Do you think eInk technology will take off?

I know those note-taking pad are ridiculously overpriced but I know someone here who got a Mudita phone they showed me earlier today -

And I have to say, they do look really trendy. I did a bit of research, turns out even eInk computer monitors exist! Currently debating whether of not to invest in one or two of these:

There are some other cool pojects too like these SBC displays

I have know idea wtf a 'steam machine' is but it does look cool lol

Do you own any eink devices? How is it?

Nah it didn't take off as much as it should of with the kindle so I doubt it will take off now.

The kindle was perfect for this tech too it's crazy

I've always seen it as more a niche thing, so I don't see it becoming mainstream as it is now.

The old tech was too dim and that’s why Amazon switched to that Kindle Fire tablet kinda screen. If they found a way to brighten it and make it more natural at the same time like an illuminate book page then I’d say yeah it can take off. But people want their really bright screens so idk.
