Middleman Service (Escrow) ,For paypal payments ,there is a system in place .Suggesting this for crypto payments.
I’ve mentioned this idea in BHW for years—I understand it’s challenging to implement and requires substantial resources. However, I still want to propose it because it's been very successful on Russian platforms.

On many Russian forums, users can deposit funds into the system. When purchasing high-risk items or when they simply don’t want to take chances, they can use a Garant (a middleman). Typically, this role is taken up by a moderator or a highly reputed member who provides the service for a small percentage fee.

Here’s how it works: the buyer and seller are added to a group chat with the Garant. The buyer either transfers funds from their forum wallet or uses crypto. The Garant holds the payment securely. Once the buyer confirms that the product or service has been successfully delivered, the Garant releases the funds to the seller.
This system helps build trust and protects both parties, especially in high-risk transactions.

I have been using a few of them on TG for deals, some users have also used me or other people in the circle as MM.

But for a forum of this size it is not worth getting into.

Accs-market and swapd also have MM for their marketplace, but it only really works for Account and Direct sales, not for things like on going SEO work or articles.

We could introduce a dedicated section where users can sell items through the escrow system for a small percentage fee—this would cover things like accounts, as you mentioned. It would likely boost overall activity on the forum.

This setup would be especially useful for users who aren't regular sellers. For example, someone who has just a couple of items to sell -say, two aged Reddit accounts with 100k karma ,shouldn't have to go through the hassle of opening a full sales thread. With this system, they could make a one-time sale using a shared thread or escrow-enabled listing, without needing to commit to maintaining a storefront.

This would make occasional or casual selling much more accessible.

Personally been reached out on multiple occasions to facilitate deals between 2 parties.
as a side thing, could work i guess, but for the forum itself offering it, that would require licenses and Z & Imp may need to check with what the laws says on that.

That's not something we can offer ourselves at this point in time, although I suppose I would be open to allowing Founding or Platinum members to do it for deals if they're reached out to about it.

@Zwielicht can i apply for official OO Escrow? I have MM'd significant amount over the past 2 years

Edit:
No, im not joking.
If we did this, I wouldn’t say it’s an “official OO” thing, but rather say “you can members in these usergroups” or something along those lines.

You’re a Platinum member, so you would probably be able to do it. But again, I need to look into it more.

Yeah, and their fees are insanely high too.
It’d be a good idea to use escrow for high-ticket stuff. But for things like SEO services or accounts under $500, it’s honestly just a waste of time for sellers.

Status or not on the forum.

Someone will fuck it up because... Well that's us as typical humans..

Id suggest either forum suggests "trusted sources" I. E escrow services somone used before and list a website

Or OO tried to become affiliated or a partner with one of the escrew services on offer...

Anything else will be a cluster fuck.

This way if they don't deliver user gets money back it's all managed via external source. You start a he fucked me over thread and go from there.

I wouldn't advise anyone doing that if they don't have some sort of fancy contract both sides sign that removes all responsibility and making sure you're not ending up owing money to someone. At least if it's not a deal between two members you somehow trust or dealt with before.
