Link Building Ever Gotten a Good Backlink By Begging?

I was reading the SEO Reddit the other day when I saw someone begging for a free backlink to their travel blog.

They apparently just wanted any old backlink. Any backlink would do.

This got me thinking of course, has anyone here ever gotten a decent backlink from begging like this?

I've never tried begging for a backlink but sometimes I wonder if the people who do this have had some success with it in the past.

Not at all. I really saw someone begging for a backlink on Reddit. It was really something else.

I didn’t want to assume it didn’t work but I’m dead serious when I ask has anyone actually gotten anything decent from doing this.

I’m not going to start begging for links obviously just a curiosity thing.

In that case. No I don't beg strangers for backlinks because I think that would be stupid.
