I've been looking into getting clients by listing my services on freelancer sites like fiverr and upwork, but everything I've heard is that they are too saturated and it's impossible to get work through there.

Is this all true? Is there any point in using these kinds of sites?

Yes, what about BHW Marketplace? ;)

It's an option, but a little pricey for me. And I wouldn't want to create a sales thread in a section with a billion threads that have Please Read next to them. :sneaky:

That's right, market place is flooded with more sales thread..

There is higher competition, if you are reputable you get clients out of competition..

Am not pushing you in this, just saying from the experience..

Naw, thank you for sharing your experience man. BHW marketplace is a lot better than other freelance websites for now. I'd need to build a bigger reputation on there first though

Yes there is, however as you already stated its kind of saturated and hard to get jobs. If you do get jobs let them know to give a review afterwards. Reviews are boosting up your rankings and will help you get more jobs in the future. Other than that, there are a lot of other marketplaces (mostly smaller ones) out there where you can actually get some listings up as well. They may not have as much traffic as Fiverr or Upwork, but combine them all together might work wonders.

Thank you for the advice! I think listing on as many sites as possible sounds like the way to go forward for now.

yes, just make sure that you are always on top of your orders as if you do not fulfill the orders they can suspend your account.

Well you have 2 choices, go for a relatively unknown or new platform where there is not much traffic ( higher chance of getting hired) or go with a platform that is already known and have hundreds of listings per day of which you can reply ( lower chance of getting hired as newcomer but most likely less scammy)
