Anyway, if everyone likes the 5 star look, we can keep that. I kind of prefer the smaller stars, anyway. At the size they were before, they felt a little off-balance when compared to the size of the text and the badges, if you know I mean.

I can't say I hate them. But the more I look at them and seem them. I can't work out why we go them.

If we have them and keep them maybe make them smaller.

I don't know if you were browsing the other forum back when it was on vBulletin, but the stars were a much requested feature there because, prior to the migration to Xenforo, they had this star system in place that rewarded stars based on post count. I think they started off as blue and then you'd get another one that would change the colours of the rest the higher your post count got. Even up to 2024, I still had people messaging me about when the stars would come back.

It's just a feature a lot of people in the community really liked back then, and that includes me as well. That's the reason we have them here.

That change I made to fit 5 stars made them smaller for everyone else, but I think they look massive on the mobile version of the site. I'll actually adjust that right now as well.

I did do a screen in previous reply with them a bit smaller.

I'll put up with them then or inject some code locally in my browser session to hide them its ok

I adjusted them earlier from 25px to 19px, but I'd probably not make them smaller than that.

Double hot rod badge, hmm... Don't give me more ideas.

I like the look of 5 stars as well, even with the gaps (I can't adjust those because of the way the stars align with the badges; it still looks good, though).

Don't stress it out, they look good now.

Regarding the badges, do you think you can push the tags bellow for mobile version, like this so on the first row remain the username as it is, the second row that text tag without the solid bacground, then on the third row the tags with the solid background?!? Looks more clean IMO

That would look a lot better, I agree.

I'm not sure how well I could get it to appear on its own line, but I'll add it to the to-do list to look at later.

It's really a pleasure. It's my first forum being present from the start and I am super excited to get this going and make it one of the biggest, coolest digital forum

I am actually loving the 5 stars instead of the 4. The size of the stars is much more proportional and matches the size of the badges.

The poll has concluded, and 5 stars is the winner!

We’re going to be switching it over to our new star system today.

It’ll work in a way everyone is familiar with (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and so on) and the stars will change colours after 5, again, similarly to what many of us were used to before (with the exception of new stars being gained past 5).

There’s an example of it below.

That's a very nice visual representation.

I felt that people might have issues with the stars being mismatched in colour. I think most people who have requested this wanted it to function similarly to the one of the old vBulletin forum where all of the stars changed colour at once after a certain point.

That's why the way I have the test system functioning right now is like this:
1 star =
2 star =
3 star =
4 star =
5 star =
6 star =
7 star =
8 star =

Anyway, I’ll begin adjusting the site guides and implementing the new system shortly. Thank you to everyone who participate in this as we now have stars that look far better (seriously, 5 does look better).

For so long... for so very long... many of you have requested that I add a star feature in. Well, since I own this forum, it became a priority for me to add in a star system Now, it's not perfect, but thanks to a plugin suggestion from @Rem, I've managed to add stars to user profiles. These...

Okay, the site guide for stars has been updated.

The new system has been added in. As you can see, the stars all of us have are bronze now as nobody has more than 5 stars just yet to get the variations.

Something neat about doing it this way is that we can continue adding colours and variations to the stars you get even past 100 trophy points. I think the way we'll probably go about it is every 20 trophy points past 100 gets you a variation. We can even have polls later on to see what you want the future star variations to look like.
