This is just a curiosity thing.

Personally there are SEO guides that cover the basics that I consider timeless for the most part. You know the ones the white hat SEO guides. Even still I consider those dated after a few years

The black hat guides are always filled with gems from the time but many of the old ones I used to like feel like they're either patched or not as feasible as they were before.

Its a tough one.

I think as you said the core foundation stuff never really changes.

For me I think "SEO" in terms of how you go about researching topics and finding opportunities is always changing and evolving I don't think anyone can really keep on top of it.

I think your either ahead of the masses and you see success or your sticking with the same old crap that feels like it's still the 00s

I don't think there's a middle ground. Anything I share I'll be honest I've normally left that "method" or "technique" behind and I've moved onto something different. Don't want to share something a potential competitor could find and then compete and I think most if not all SEO'ers who share information that is of any kind of worth, is in that mind set also.

Don't get me wrong what does get shared still works just for the person sharing I think it's "old"

for me it's usually 1 year, but if it's from someone I trust (which is how it used to be in the 2010s with Brad Callen / Jon Leger tools) I give it 2 years or so...
