With so many scams that happen on the other forum because of Telegram, do you think Telegram is a problem when you conduct business on it?

Don't know but when I see people saying they get scammed and the chat gets deleted sometimes I'm just like what do they expect? But then seeing that nothing can be done about it because they were taken off that forum and onto TG is even stupider.

If anyone does business on TG is there even a good way to keep logs of chats or anything like that? What do you do to protect yourself on TG during transactions and all that?

No not at all I work with Slavic people all the time on it or use it to chat to friends or staff I got no complaints for using it I am also big fan of the Telegram founder.

I take myself seriously enough to not do business over any instant messenger. I send proper proposals over emails and go from there.

I used to work with Skype to buy stuff, but I'll never sell over any chat. And if I ever do, it won't be on TG.

If you do not have a history with a seller, I really dont get the urge of taking your business outside the forum when we have DM, it is not about what platform you use, it is all about trying to mitigate the risks, when you have a history with the seller use what you want.

Give me your Telegram so I can send you two ferrets more easily.

Indians and pricks deal in business over IM. It's my pet hate the amount of Whats App messages I get via LinkedIn (before my job thread) is just embarrassing it's up there with the spam email follow ups (last chance to reply, seems you ignored me and so on)

Speak on the phone, Meet in Person, Zoom calls (or similar) and Email.

The whole "its about speed" just tells me you are never by the computer or have a real office set up. Amateur hour at best.

No risk at all know people in the merchant navy, air force, truckers we got all the delivery routes covered to complete the mission.
The risk in your case is that you would probably fck me over and send 5 of those fckrs instead of just 2.

Take screenshots of your chats, I do this on Messenger all the time to have proof that I delivered the service. I usually dm my clients during, explaining what I'm doing and sending them screenshots, I also keep screenshots from gads and other tools for myself for delivery proof. Email also, make screenshots, generally I prefer text-based communication so I have proof of what was said. Not a big fan of calls but I will do sales calls to close if my prospects absolutely demand that to proceed.

Depend how you are talking and to whom? Well scam is not with telegram, through so many other ways people are scamming. It's a part of online work or internet you can say. While working check the other people badge and their history. I am getting so many contacts through telegram first i see his portfolio on forum if he is legit I'll do the task without asking for upfront payment if not than pay me before i can start your work.. If you have a doubt on me, check mine. You can ask any of my clients how i am, simple as that.

No real business that I know of uses telegram.

(Real for me is basically 1 mil+.)

I don't see Alex hormozi, Russell Brunson etc use telegram.

Nuff said really.

I think this really depends on the business and the niche. Let me give you a concrete example from our side.

We operate in bulk phone trading and work with partners in China, the US, and Dubai. After initial contact and verification via email, we transact every week through Whatsapp on volumes ranging from $5-50k. With different time zones involved, its simply not possible to be in front of a PC 24/7.

That doesnt mean we dont have a proper office or structured processes. It means our business moves fast. When a WTS offer is posted, speed matters. If you dont react immediately via WhatsApp or Signal, the opportunity is gone.

Once the terms are agreed upon, we move everything to email and formal documentation. Theres nothing unprofessional about using fast messaging tools where speed is critical imo.

Some people even start calling you "bro" after some times.

I dont like that tbh but as long as the service and prices are unbeatable ive learned to live with it lol

I would agree.

I don't really think you need the whole office setup to be rich or successful.

Telegram itself has many uses for work such as you can make your own bots if you want or use unlimited amount of free ones which are pretty good. You can also use it get cheap deals on holidays or other perks from using Telegram you can even use indexer service from it as well.

I don't get the logic of not being by the computer 24/7. You can't be by the phone 24/7 either.

So it pings and you wake up? So now your working 24/7 instead? Seems like a waste to me.

I'm probably just old I buy and sell (both spending and buying from 4 figures to 7 figures) NOT ONE of those asks to deal via Whats App.

If it offends, then fair enough.

In my opinion It's 100% a culture/race thing.

@t2van In front of or in behind the computer give some space to your self. Sleep is matter, you can spend sleepless night but once you come up in professional you need to make some limit yourself for your friends, clients and relatives.. Work is must but have to balance everything, your health and wealth.

We usually have our phones with us. A computer or laptop isnt something you can realistically carry around all day.

For example, its around 8pm right now and Ive been out of the office since 6pm. Currently having dinner but I can still quickly check a few offers on my phone. That doesnt mean Im working 24/7. It just means I can stay responsive without being tied to a desk.

Maybe its partly a generational thing lol I’m sure the time will come when I’ll stick strictly to official working hours.

If it offends, then fair enough.

Not offended at all.
I was simply sharing a different perspective from our experience.

All good :D

TG is good for services that require anonymity. It's not bad perse.

However it's widely abused.

In my current line of work(suppression of bad links and bad link removals) I have clients who constantly clean the logs after the removal/suppression. Plus they leave no financial trials. It's always paid via crypto (99% of the times) a lot of times I have told them to pay me via fiat and promise them it won't come back to bite them. Most of our clients are somewhat good in their own fields so they want that privacy. Professors of ivy leagues that had one bad tweet about some random stuff that gets picked up by a lot of platforms or a politician in an old me too scandal many moons ago. Most of these are high ticket sales ranging between 4-5 figure and still people prefer Telegram over WhatsApp/emails that leave a digital footprint.

Its just sad that those low life sellers are just clowns scamming people on telegram. Those scams are mostly pathetic 20-30 USD of scam and sometimes it makes me wonder is that really worth so much effort? Why not just honor the sale, scale and grow the business. Probably short-term thinkers and just narrow minded guys who cannot think past scamming.

Telegram isn't bad. It's just like any other tool that is abused.
