Locking a feedback thread with a mod response seems "shit"

I think lock after 7 days if you cant resolve / implement / fix

Is fine as i guess that's fair. But I've had two locked on me now for "computer days no" despite having the issue.

I feel like I or we get locked out of a discussion and the result is "tough"

I can see both sides. On the one hand, you want to let people keep discussing things. But on the other hand, what is there to discuss if the staff have already said they can’t do it?

Threads aren't meant to be locked immediately. If I or anyone else does this, then know it's just an old habit from the other forum since that was what I had to do for years.

The only cases where a thread is locked can be found in the feedback section explanation thread.
[]Locked Threads[/]As of January 6, 2026, we now lock threads in this section after two weeks from the last post date. We made the decision to start doing this because if there are any old suggestions that anyone wants to revisit, we'd rather a new thread get started on the suggestion with fresh votes from the community rather than have the old thread bumped. Two weeks gives everyone plenty of time to vote and gives question threads time to be discussed. We also don't want anyone to feel shut down by locking threads immediately.

If there's ever an inconsistency in how something is handled, just send in a report and point out the rule.

In regards to locking a suggestion that cannot be implemented, if we lack the resources or time to implement something, the suggestion can always be revisited at a later date.
