It's something I had in my mind for a long time.

I would like that as well because it would massively clean up the alerts I get, but that's unfortunately beyond my current ability to add in.

I found that there was a guy on the Xenforo boards who posted about this as well back in February. I upvoted the suggestion, so all of you know the drill with that one; if you want the feature, upvote it on Xenforo: https://xenforo.com/community/threads/reactions-notifications-grouping.229264/

I have that in our to-do list to look over, but let me see if it merges those alerts.

Edit: I just noticed your quote. Yeah, let’s add that in.

This one has been implemented.

We'll see how it does on this new server, so if it affects performance too much, I might have to disable it.

I am going to have to slow down with add-ons after this...

I'm sorry, I had to roll this one back. It seems to increase the load of pages more than I'm comfortable with, and this is after the server upgrade.

It's just disabled, so when we get even better posting (probably next month at this rate), then we can revisit this add-on.

Do I get a trophy for creating the first suggestion that was declined?

1. Alert Sound on New Alert," which adds a pop-up sound when a new alert is received.

2. Say for example, if we received 10 notifications, 1 click all disappeared..

instead , clicked / watched only can disappear, Remaining shows still.. I think there is an add-on for this in xenforo ..

I’m not sure about the first one as I don’t know if others will find that annoying.

For the second one, we have an addon installed for alert improvements that does exactly that, but it’s currently disabled as we took a performance hit when it was enabled.

Alert sound is like additional option, if one doesnt like can use the Default Alert with no sound..

For the Second one, Thanks for taking it into consideration.

Just sharing my thoughts,

I looked into the first one. There used to be an add-on for it back in 2015, but it's no longer available.

As for the second, I re-enabled alert improvements. Let me know if there are any issues with it or around the forum.

Now the alert notifications not disappeared in one click..

Works fine.

Sounds like it’s working, at least. No issues server-side, thankfully.

This Suggestion has taken into consideration and Implemented. I'm happy with that..

But , sad to see - 4 votes for this Thread so far.. :D

Yeah, I forgot to look at that when I implemented this, but I think the downvotes were for the suggestion as a whole (including the pop-up noise) since the suggestion for alert improvements has been made by several others in the last month.

Anyway, we looked this over for the third time, and alerts should function the same way they did before for everyone until they edit their alert preferences. https://officeoutlaw.com/account/preferences

For example, for me, when I click the alerts bell, it marks all of the alerts as read, which is my preference. For someone who prefers checking individual alerts though, they can change that on their preferences page.

The only downside is that the preferences are worded really... badly. Go to the page to see what I mean.

If there's something I overlooked with this, others can post here and I'll figure out if it's worth keeping.

I've merged these suggestions into this one just so everything is in one place.

@roydan, that means that your original suggestion got implemented. Let's just hope there are no issues again so we don't have to roll it back for the third time. ;)

It does look like a warning! 🤣

There might be a way to change the text. We’ll look into it

“Your post in the thread _____ has received a warning. Reason: too many likes”
