I've created this forum with the goal of transparency in mind. Essentially, all of the rules will be viewable only in this thread and in the terms of service. Not only will all of the rules be listed, but the reasons for these rules will be alongside them.
As this forum grows, links to section specific rules will be added to this opening post.
Rule 1: Religious and political discussions are prohibited.
Historically, at least in other communities I've managed, these discussions have only led to unnecessary strife between members.
Rule 2: Hacking Is Prohibited
This means discussions and requests to hack are prohibited.
Rule 3: Avatar Rules
Nudity or suggestive imagery in avatars is prohibited
Rule 4: Signature Banners
Signature banners and text are permitted on Office Outlaw. Members are permitted to advertise in their signatures so long as the content does not violate any of the other rules
Rule 5: Contests are prohibited without the approval of an administrator.
There are legalities surrounding contests that mean that we can't just let them run on the website.
Rule 6: Moderator Abuse is Prohibited
This goes without saying that abusing a moderator or undermining their authority is prohibited.
Rule 7: Member Abuse
Abusing a member through excessive trolling or commentary regarding their race, age, gender, etc is prohibited.
Rule 8: Post Count Inflation
Posting for the sake of inflating your post count is prohibited.
Rule 9: Sales Content
Selling on Office Outlaw is currently prohibited. At some point in the future, should the community grow large enough, we can look into adding a marketplace in.
