I've created this forum with the goal of transparency in mind. Essentially, all of the rules will be viewable only in this thread and in the terms of service. Not only will all of the rules be listed, but the reasons for these rules will be alongside them.

As this forum grows, links to section specific rules will be added to this opening post.

The 12 Rules of Office Outlaw

Rule 1: Religious and political discussions are prohibited outside of the VIP Saloon
I don’t want to limit discussions on this, but due to the sensitive nature of these topics, they’re limited to the VIP Saloon.

The reason it's only allowed in the VIP Saloon is because on the forum I was an administrator of, these types of public discussions would sometimes hurt the reputation or even sales of members engaging in them.

I want others to be able to engage in discourse on these topics in a non-indexed section with other community members.

Rule 2: Hacking Is Prohibited
This means discussions and requests to hack are prohibited.

Discussions on how to protect your site from hacking are permitted (here come the loopholes... ;)).

Rule 3: Avatar Rules
Discriminatory or suggestive imagery in avatars is prohibited.

Rule 4: Signature Banners
Signature banners and text are permitted on Office Outlaw. Members are permitted to post text advertisements (no banners yet. I'm working this one out) in their signatures so long as the content does not violate any of the other rules.

Ko-fi links are also permitted for all members, so feel free to add these.

Rule 5: Contests are prohibited without the approval of an administrator.
There are legalities surrounding contests that mean that we can't just let them run on the website.

I'll be honest, I need to look into this one a little more, so even if you reach out to an administrator, don't expect an approval.

Rule 6: Moderator Abuse is Prohibited
This goes without saying that abusing a moderator abuse is prohibited. To define this further, doxxing or langauge that suggests you're launching a personal attack against a moderator is prohibited.

However, if you have a problem with a warning, you can open a forum feedback thread about it as this is not considered mod abuse here.

Rule 7: Member Abuse
Abusing a member through excessive trolling or commentary regarding their race, age, gender, etc is prohibited.

To define this further, arguments are not considered member abuse. "You're stupid" types of comments are not prohibited, just discouraged.

Rule 8: Post Count Inflation
Posting for the sake of inflating your post count is prohibited. You know, those "Welcome to Office Outlaw, I love you" kind of posts.

Rule 9: Sales Content
Selling outside of The Trading Post is prohibited.

Rule 10: Scamming
Scamming in any way, shape or form is prohibited on Office Outlaw.

Rule 11: Account Rules
Multiple accounts are permitted so long as you don't use them to violate any of the other rules listed here.

Should any of your multiple accounts be banned, all of the accounts that we link to you will also be banned.

Rule 12: Language Rules
As far as the public forums are concerned, we only allow English on them. However, you are free to write in another language over the direct messaging system or in a private section like the Sapphire Section.

We’re going to be expanding these out today and adding anything mentioned in these site guides to the TOS.

Should this be more fleshed out?
How about
Botnets – Creating, distributing, or managing networks of compromised devices

RATs (Remote Access Trojans) – Sharing or discussing tools used for unauthorised remote access

Exploits and zero-days – Sharing methods for exploiting vulnerabilities in software or hardware or even websites...

Account cracking – Accessing or attempting to access accounts without permission

DDoS attacks – Discussing or promoting distributed denial of service tools or methods

Phishing – Creating or sharing deceptive methods to steal user information

Malware development – Writing, modifying, or distributing malicious software

and lastly everyone's favorite
Doxing - doxing..

How about Language?
Is it Strictly English only here or other language posts/threads are welcome too?

I Guess,
English Only..
Other language contents are not allowed..

Oh, I guess I never specified that.

English on the public forums, although you can speak another language over DM or in a private area like the Sapphire Section. I'll add that to the rules in a bit.

In regards to the Sapphire section, one thing I would consider were language-specific sections at some point. I still need to look into how to make that work without making it really complicated to keep things organised, though.

Edit: there you go.
