Lately I’ve been getting very poor-quality leads for my services.
In the past two days I’ve noticed a pattern and I’m wondering whether this is a scam.
  1. First red flag: the alleged “buyer” is overly friendly and asks personal questions (e.g., “Where are you from?”). Why would a client care where I’m from?
  2. Conversation proceeds normally: they ask questions about the item/service.
  3. Then they say: “Please allow me to check via Anydesk.”
Is this an innocent safety measure?
I always offer demos: videos, video calls, escrow.com, etc.

Once I told a buyer I could show him everything via Discord screenshare or FaceTime and he refused, saying it “has to be Anydesk"

Is this a scam? Are they trying to hijack accounts or remotely download my entire hard drive? I think I read about something like that somewhere.

What do you think about this kind of request? Are you comfortable giving remote access to your computer to a stranger?

Lol what! They're just trying to use some glitch, cyber security vulnerability found using LLM or another thing. Most software has some problems and is hackable, even big one from FAANG.

This person might not even be a human.
