Honestly, this one changed everything for me. For the longest time, I thought I knew what would work just because I liked it. Turns out, the stuff I personally thought was lame or boring is sometimes exactly what the customer wants. The minute I stopped trusting my own taste and started actually listening to the people I was selling to, things started clicking.
Now I just try to keep my own opinions in check and pay attention to what the customer actually says and does - even if it's not what I'd pick.
