Do you have a go-to guy who builds your websites?

Cheap and Quality usually don't go hand in hand, but it is still worth a shot, so I thought I would ask.

I don't have good experiences hiring from the other place.

Web development is the most competitive niche to enter, so people happen take on projects they are not capable of completing.

If you want to get an agency site done, where do you go?

Right now, I think hiring someone for the design for $1000-$1500 and then paying another guy the same amount for putting this thing together... I don't have anyone who could handle both tasks that well.

Thanks

You`d better give us examples on what type of quality you want, throw in some links to stuff you like. Quality UI design is different from designer to designer in terms of what good design really is depending on culture and so on.

Edit: are we talking WordPress or something fully custom?

Me + mixing multiple templates. Somehow looks expensive and works fine until Wordpress decides to break and I have to do the thing all over again 😂😐. So I can understand the need to find a person to do this for you, def had moments when I wanted to fuck it all and get someone to handle this. Generally backend, security and Linux/sysadmin is more up my alley so somehow I can't force myself to learn to do frontend myself manually eh.

So @INCC if you look for a guy building your Agency site for $3K I have a guy that would deliver a good site for you in WordPress if you want, not seing you respond here though in your own thread, hmm.

Either myself, @Impulse, or both of us work on the design of our sites.

Unfortunately, I don’t know of anyone who could help you out with your designs, though.

Sorry, I've been offline for days.

I have people who are building these fronts for $3k but that's the problem I was trying to solve. Shouldn't be paying that much money really.

What is the build process like for $3k?

I know of people will pay that kind of money for a run off the mill WP site which is ridiculous.

There are good WP devs that will charge that much or maybe a bit more than that (and by 'good' here I mean designers that at least know and use js best practices, working with the dom, how to decouple and work with the rest api and so on, and devs that actually know php, how to harden the file structure properly and integrate with laravel components etc) but they are far and few.

But at those kinds of prices then, you start asking yourself why not just work with a laravel developer instead and bypass the false economy that the WP 'dev' industry has become (React is heading that way too).

If you are frustrated by this and feel like you're getting ripped off or losing control of your project, maybe you could look in to one of the new era of AI powered web builders like snapps

It is different because there are too many people willing to do decent work for that price.

It is either react or next, and I am eyeing getting something done via 99designs too.

They have this contest thing where multiple designers are building your site and you pick the one you like the most... if you dont like any, you dont need to pay. So the sellers are putting a lot of effort in delivering quality work

This is great, really:

It’s different every time. Maybe it’s just me but a lot of these designers tend to flake out the second or third time I try working with them. That or the quality goes down massively the next time. All small projects though so that might have something to do with it.
