Quoted tet bellow from source:

No code. No plugins.
Just:
Settings → Post Types → Add

That might sound small… it’s not.

Custom post types go from “developer feature” → “everyday user feature”

Which means:
• Better structured content from day one
• Easier onboarding
• Less plugin dependency
• A cleaner foundation for AI to understand your site

And this is just the start.

Post types → taxonomies → …you can probably guess what comes next

You can see where this is heading…

My main problem with ACF was mapping out the backend routes to WP's ways of storing data...

This is going to make WordPress a swiss army knife again

I assume

Kinda makes ACF-Builder slightly redundant

I rarely touch Wordpress projects anymore, but anytime I did and ACF was involved I'd damn near not want to bother... always disliked how it wired into everything. This is a long overdue addition to Wordpress and should eliminate a lot of that mess for many.

i only largely maintain wordpress sites now that i made decades ago
nearly all the newer sites i created are pure Jamstacks in one shape or another.
altho, i do admit, it is alot easier creating new posts in wordpress tho

You on Jamstack too? Gogol's been talking about Jamstack since 1982

What moved you across

I bet you'd love Sanity CMS, schema out your post types... Can nearly do everything in a split IDE window

WP being such a resource hog, scaling & reliability sucks balls
everything has to be done in their shitty cms or ftp, shit crashes often or laggy as fuck
dependent on plugins, which are usually full of other features you do not care about
and the constant god damn fuckng maintenance triggers me constantly
i loathe when i see @Dopious constant NEW WORDPRESS UPDATE threads :(

i know some people dont even test their sites after they plugin update or wp update
then wonder why the fuck their site breaks
i mean yes, its rare it breaks, but it has happened to me before, some plugin just crashes the entire site.

now scale that process up
the amount of time u gotta dedicate to that is a pain in the ass

Bad habits are a bitch making us see things as bad even when they can be good. But to restart your thinking is not that obvious - it requires to learn everything all over again and change our perspective. Years of experience with bad habits makes it difficult to admit we're not making wise decisions. But we can admit we don't really know something.

In other words, people think WordPress is easy... yes, easy to start, hard to master.

Cool, I remember that back in the day it was annoying as hell. Great that they added that in there now.

AI has forced their hand. This feels like too little too late. While the CMS is great for a client that wants to be hands on, it is still bloated and slow compared to what AI can spit out and manage.

Yes, but for the normal customer that wants something to post his articles, AI is not a solution.
