When you created your account, you may have noticed there's a karma system on your profile.
This is a system used on Office Outlaw mostly just for fun, but it can be used mostly for whatever you want to use it for.
One thing to be aware of is that karma cannot be purchased with real money nor can they be exchanged for real money. So, whilst you can use karma for transfers or exchange it for goods and services, there's no way to "cash out".
How Is Karma Earned?
Karma is earned by the following actions:
Credit goes to @Rem for creating this table.
An easy way to remember it is like this: things you do generate 10 karma, things others do to you generates 20 karma, and "major events" that happen generate 30 karma.
How Is Karma Lost?
Karma is lost either through spending them or by negating the action that caused them to be received. For instance, if you lose a star, you'll lose the 50 karma you got from getting it. The same goes for losing a follower costing 20 karma (the same you gain for getting a follower).
Additionally, the following causes karma to be lost:
Donating Karma To Other Members
You're able to give other members karma. You can use this for any reason, including gift giving or transactions if you choose to do so.
Click the "Karma" option on someone's profile and you'll see a "Donate" button.
What Can Karma Be Spent On?
Aside from viewing content between the "charge" code tag, karma can also be spent on cosmetics on the Upgrades page.
Currently, we only have the "Hot Rod" badge, which costs $10 (1000 karma). Note that whilst a dollar amount is displayed, you can currently only purchase this with karma. Yeah, I know, annoying, but we can't change that yet.
Karma can also be spent on gifting other users the Hot Rod badge, along with any other karma-only purchase options we introduce to Office Outlaw.

- Uploading an attachment costs 10 karma. This takes up space on our server and we prefer for members to embed.
- Donating karma is taxed at 5%. This is just a karma sink.
